Zakat Al-Fitr
This year the ISCP will be collecting Zakat Al-fitr. The zakah is $10 per family member (only $10 if single). We will be collecting CASH or CHECKS only, no rice, dates or food will be accepted. The zakat have to be paid by September 5th so we have enough time to distribute it to the needy people.
Eid Prayer
Eid ul-fitr will (insha’allah) be celebrated on Friday, September 10, 2010. The Eid prayer will be held on the Sunset Park by the Penn State University campus (weather permitted). The Eid prayer will start at 9:00 a.m followed by a potluck brunch. Everyone in the community is invited to attend. Please bring a dish to share.
General Body Meeting
As you might know we recently have won the case regarding the Masjid property of west College Avenue. We now have the right to start a new building on this property. The Executive Committee of the ISCP is calling for a general body meeting to discuss plans of the new building. The meeting will take place in the Masjid on Sunday September 5th 2010. The meeting will start at 1:30 pm inshaallah. Everyone is invited to share his/her concerns.
Weekend Islamic School
InshaAllah Weekend Islamic School would begin from September 19, 2010. At this time we would like all parents, volunteers and teachers to come for joint meeting on Sunday, September 5, 2010 at 2:30 PM in Masjid to discuss the running of school for this year. You attendance will be highly commendable.
